Hey all! I’m Morgan and Welcome to Fork My Life! I want to share a little bit about me.
I am so happy you’re here and stumbled across my little culinary world! At Fork My Life, you’ll find plenty of recipes filled with whole foods, detailed instructions and the most flavorful outcome!
Originally this blog started as a place where I could share my adventures eating in restaurants and cooking at home. I was on a journey to lose weight and feel better (still on the same journey many years later) and I wanted to share my recipes and tips with you all.
When I first started on my wellness journey, I joined WW (formerly known as Weight Watchers) in college. I followed the plan pretty meticulously and lost close to 30 pounds! After college, life got a little more challenging. I was working full-time as a line cook and heading off to culinary school soon. I moved out to New York and attended culinary school and as you can imagine the weight slowly came back on (and on and on).
Post culinary school, I moved to NYC and joined WW again (not sure how many times in total) and the weight started coming off again, more slowly but surely. I led this cycle of gaining and losing for the next 8 years or so. Finally in 2019, I decided to change it up and did my first (full) round of Whole30.
I know this will sound crazy but it will changed my life and the way I view food. I had always wanted to be that person that ate “clean” and ate “whole foods” but after years of WW and eating low fat foods, it was hard to break that cycle. Whole30 really showed me that I could eat whole, full fat, non-processed food and feel good! The by-product of Whole30 was I lost weight and kept it off! Something I’ve never been able to do.
My journey isn’t over. I still love eating pasta, rice and carbs and writing plant-based recipes with legumes and tofu. I love eating in a Whole30 style. And that’s what Fork My Life is all about. Beautiful, healthful, whole foods. Essentially, food that tastes really good but won’t kill.
With that said that’s enough about me! If you make one of my recipes, I want to see it! Make sure to tag any posts on Instagram or Facebook with @forkmylifechi or #forkmylife. I am so excited to have you here and can’t to see what you create!
Hi Morgan!
Your mom told me about your blog. I love the pics and recipes. I can’t wait to try the figs and ricotta cheese dish. That sounds so delicious!
Keep up the yoga, working out and healthy dishes!!!!
